Coulson Lives, SHIELD characters

Big news from NYCC from Clark Gregg himself, thats right Coulson appeared to announce that he would be reprising his roll as Coulson in the SHIELD tv series. Via vidio link Joss Whedon the mind behind the avengers movie (as if you didnt know) and one of the SHIELD masterminds said the following;

"We all love Clark Gregg, there's no doubt about that,""From before we made 'The Avengers,' we discussed whether there was a way for him to be a part of the Marvel Universe, perhaps a part of a TV show even after his death." "He's headlining the 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' show and always was,"

Excellent news to hear however he died... how did he come back? Is it set in a different universe? Is it set before the Avengers? Who knows although Gregg had these ideas of his own
"I just want to say because I won't have another chance to ask this -- 'Have you heard of a Life Model Decoy?'" Gregg asked rhetorically. "I don't know if you've read the theories from the people on Twitter, but there's this guy called the Vision. I don't know if you saw the UK version of the DVD, but the blade wasn't coming out of his chest. There's a tesseract!"

As far as SHIELD is going a few weeks ago we got this info about the rest of the characters:

Skye: This late-20s woman sounds like a dream: fun, smart, caring and confident – with an ability to get the upper hand by using her wit and charm.

Agent Grant Ward: Quite the physical specimen and “cool under fire,” he sometimes botches interpersonal relations. He’s a quiet one with a bit of a temper, but he’s the kind of guy that grows on you.

Agent Althea Rice: Also known as “The Calvary,” this hard-core soldier has crazy skills when it comes to weapons and being a pilot. But her experiences have left her very quiet and a little damaged.

Agent Leo Fitz and Agent Jemma Simmons: These two came through training together and still choose to spend most of their time in each other’s company. Their sibling-like relationship is reinforced by their shared nerd tendencies – she deals with biology and chemistry, he’s a whiz at the technical side of weaponry.

Sounds like an interesting bunch, shame we have to wait to see them properly. A fanboy like myself has to wonder how many characters will be Whedon alumni!
